One Thousand Gifts Part IX – Summertime and Sunny Days

I grew up in Texas where summer meant April… sometimes even earlier… and 100+ degree weather.  Now I live in the mountains of western North Carolina, and summer means 70+ degree weather and rainy days.  Ha.

But this past week was beautiful, even hitting 80 once! and I woke up to the sun in my windows almost every day.  Today when I woke up and it was overcast (and cold), I realized how thankful for the sun I am!  Apparently I am going to have to wear my raincoat today and tomorrow, but I know the rain is good for us.  But it just makes me even more grateful to enjoy the beautiful days.

Thank You, God, for the gift of the sunshine and warm weather.

A happy girl
