The girls discipleship group that we do at our church didn’t really have a title until recently and when the Lord gave me the “title” I didn’t make a huge deal about it or anything, just typed it out and put it on the front page of the handouts that I made the girls when we started our new “series.”
That name is Redeemed and it came to me one Sunday morning after singing the hymn, “Redeemed.” I love the words to that song!!
Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child, and forever, I am.
Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus, No language my rapture can tell; I know that the light of His presence With me doth continually dwell.
I think of my blessed Redeemer, I think of Him all the day long; I sing, for I cannot be silent; His love is the theme of my song.
Redeemed, redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; redeemed, through His infinite mercy, His child and forever, I am!
~Fanny J. Crosby
And another song called “Redeemer” which has AmAzInG words too!
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
and Who told the ocean you can only come this far?
and Who showed the moon where to hide ’til evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives:
Let all creations testify
Let this, life within me cry
I know my Redeemer lives, yeah.
The very same God that spins things in orbit
runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m broken
They conquered death to bring me victory
Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creations testify
Let this life within we cry
I know my Redeemer, He lives
To take away my shame
And He lives forever, I’ll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He’s alive and
There’s an empty grave.
And I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
Let all creations testify
Let this life within me cry
I know my Redeemer,
I know my Redeemer
I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
I know that I know that I know that I know that I know my redeemer lives
Because He lives I can face tomorrow
I Know I know
He lives He lives yeah, yeah I spoke with him this morning
He lives He lives, the tomb is empty,
He lives I gotta tell everybody

But right now in our d-group we’re going through the book of John and looking at the I Am statements. I did the first few and then my sister started leading as my school schedule became more demanding on Wednesday afternoon, evenings. So far we’ve gone through:
I am the Bread of Life
I am the Light of the World
I am the good shepherd
I am the vine
(These are not in the order that John has them recorded.)
I will add the outline/notes as we complete them so check back once a month to see what we’ve done! I’ll be including the latest outline in the regular blog too.
I’ve only added the first two outlines. I’ll type up Emma’s outlines & add them online here when I can. But you can click on the first two outlines to read them.
